I have this book and am a five times granddaughter of Meschak Browning. His daughter Sally was my line and each generation has been through the female line down to me. I occasionally reread the book and am always pleased to see him mentioned. His leathers and his rifle (which he made) are housed in the Smithsonian. My cousin's son visited there and was shown them and allowed to photograph them. I also recently purchased another of his books that was published by Lippencott in 1865.
Meshack was on his own from the age of twelve and had little education. He was an altogether remarkable man and one I'm pleased to have as an ancestor.

This is one of the best websites I've seen on the net! The site design and layout is supreme. I love it that you don't have any annoying banner advertisements and the site loads fast!

And the illustrations here are first class. I wish other sites were this interesting. But maybe not...since you've got something good going on here my friend.
