Tommy Knockers & Mine Ghosts

The name ‘Tommy Knocker’ comes from the knocking on the mine walls that happens just before cave-ins – the creaking of earth and timbers.

Despite his brusque manner, there was no shortage of patients. Many arrived by train to Albertville and were fetched to the clinic by car.

They say that in watching the residence about 12 o’clock at night you will see a curious light gleam forth from the upstairs window.

In Garrett County, MD, somewhere around Swallow Falls or McHenry, there is a plot of land that may be “cursed.”

The yard was full of other people looking through the sale items and they all seemed friendly, yet I couldn’t shake the creepy feeling I had.
