In 1929 Harland Sanders finally found his life’s calling. That was the year he moved to Corbin, KY & opened a gas station.

They had flawless, heavily powdered complexions. Much later I learned how they earned their living at a neighboring hotel.

Author Wilma Dykeman (1920-2006) launched her career as a Tennessee historian with the publication of ‘The French Broad.’

Mrs. Riddle raises and sells vegetables, and keeps bees, but the real business of the family is raising beef cattle.

Where’d I go to school? WV, Pleasant Valley. Forest Home. One room. A pot-bellied stove in it. We carried wood to keep the fire going.
