I did a series of photos on a Saturday afternoon in a small Tennessee town, of a medicine man. He had a little dummy, ventriloquist dummy.

Cumberland Homesteads community came into being as part of a nationwide New Deal agrarian movement to create subsistence farm communities.

The Skyline Farms Heritage Assn is pushing to resurrect the buildings, artifacts & culture of Skyline Farms Colony, built in the 1930s.

This was just one of many trips for Eleanor Roosevelt into the mining areas, but it started the homestead idea.

When Dad learned Eleanor Roosevelt was due to visit Arthurdale, her personal project, he made sure he was among the crowd gathered.
