WV women win right to vote

In a fifteen to fourteen vote on March 10, the state Senate made West Virginia the thirty-fourth of the thirty-six states needed to ratify the amendment.

By the spring of 1920, 35 states had ratified the 19th Amendment, which would give women the right to vote. Thirty six states were required.
