The Presidents, the Magnolia Trees, and the Museum

Two magnolia trees are intertwined with the lives of President Andrew Jackson, President Ronald Reagan, and Senator Howard H. Baker, Jr.

VA’s Department of Historic Resources plans a highway marker to remind passers-by of the famed artist Grandma Moses and her ties to the area.

Appalachia has always had a pull for its dispersed children, a pull I’ve felt my whole life. It has always been a land of nostalgia and loss.

The Virginia Department of Historic Resources approved the St. Paul Historic District and Sunnydale Farm near Pound for listing.

Honored by the Library of Congress, chosen to participate in the Bicentennial Local Legacies Project, her works are in the Smithsonian.
