Agricultural education in WV, a 1923 update

Agricultural education throughout the State, and scientific farming, have developed within the last 50 years.

Anna Safley Houston (1876-1951) amassed it all single-handedly. Her collection of pitchers alone is thought to be the largest in the world.

Dr. Charles Elmer Holzer recognized the need for a community hospital. He converted a private home into a 7-bed infirmary in Gallipolis, OH.

Kentuckian Sarah Ann Jackson’s 1835 diary was found between the walls of an old house in Laurel County, KY.
