Mountain Christmas

All of us was thinking Santy was dead. I kept picturing him in my mind all frozen somewhere on the mountain. Mama said how sorry she was.

The work of the mountain mother is burdensome and she bears more than her share of responsibilities of the household.

At Easter, kids would hide eggs. Go around to hen nests and get a egg or two every day and hide them so you’d have some for Easter.

It’s surprising how much old account books can tell about people & the times. Changes in attitudes, customs, & dress can be detected.

I guess Albert Hash & the Whitetop Mountain boys are next on the list. Albert is known far ‘n wide for his woodworking and instrument making.
