Managing the business end of Gold Fever in Dahlonega

The Dahlonega gold rush was the original, and it kicked off 21 years before the California event we usually associate with that phrase.

As with elsewhere in Georgia, many of Rabun County’s place names are derived from Indian names. In Rabun County that would be the Cherokees.

Georgia writer Bill Arp, writing as ‘The Country Philosopher’ post Civil War, was implicitly critical of the New South in his columns.

Georgia Marble Company stone is found in the NY Stock Exchange annex, the Lincoln Memorial & the 24 columns of the US Capitol’s east front.
